I wanted to write an essay that tied into the memoir I’m writing and pitched a story about the elder care gap and quality of life to Insider Business. The editor forwarded my pitch to the Senior Editor of Parenting & Health who accepted the story. I wrote a 600-word personal essay with research that published a month later.
