Diagnosis – Short Film as a Medical Memoir

Process
In 2001, I asked a classmate in the graduate film program to document my MS diagnosis for her second term project. The result was a short film that went to international festivals. Twenty years later, I have never had a second clinical episode. I have chosen to write about my experience of being diagnosed and treated for multiple sclerosis. One of the formats is a hybrid memoir & screenplay. The piece, along with screen grabs from the film, was featured in Please See Me’s “Diagnosis” issue.
